Version 4.42 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in iTunes.

To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu bar, and
the download will begin.

On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (F12) to be able to check for updates.

When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation.

   Follow the installer directions.

You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your remote
terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal. If
you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that the
WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall. If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update
from the base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just
check for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

A number of smaller changes, but the core one is the addition of
semi-integration.

1) Support semi-integration to Elavon and Global merchant terminal (ingenico
iCT250 terminals). Not all merchant terminals support semi-integration.
You need to contact me or your merchant terminal sales rep to configure your
POS software correctly. Basically with semi-integration, the POS software
tells the merchant terminal how much to charge for the transaction, and then
waits to see what the payment type is (e.g., debit, visa, m/c, amex). This
eliminates human error with data entry.

1a) The auth code for the transaction is displayed in the Sale Details
dialog.

1b) Transactions completed via semi-integration cannot have their dates or
sales items (totals) modified.

1c) The transaction can be voided.

1d) The Sale Details dialog can be used to pay unpaid invoices via
semi-integration.

1e) End-of-Day can be sent to the merchant terminal to start the end-of-day
on the merchant terminal.

1f) Tips added via the merchant terminal will be automatically added to the
transaction if your terminal is setup for tipping.

2) Added VOID of transactions capability. Transactions can now be voided.
There is a void button in the Sales Details dialog that is enabled when
voids are allowed. If the transaction was processed via semi-integration,
the transaction will be voided on the merchant terminal as well.

3) Expanded the REFUND capability. Refunds can now use any payment method.

4) The Contact Name has been added to the main PC window, and can be set
before processing a transaction.

5) It's now easier to split sales into multiple payments. If a sale is part
cash and part cc, press the cash button and enter the cash amount. You will
be prompted, for the secondary payment for the remaining amount of the
transaction.

6) Added a Tip Calculator for staff to determine their tip amounts for the
day (this is in the Restaurant version).

7) Fixed a bug that I introduced last release that was putting the wrong
licensee number in the VQA licensee report.

8) Fixed a bug in the LCBO quote calculator for sparkling wines. The LCBO
quietly changed the sparkling markup to be the same as table wine (a sizable
increase).

9) Added a tax (HST/GST) column to pdf reports generated from the WRS Sales
Summary dialog.

10) Added the ability to open cash drawer 1 or 2 (used to always be 1), when
configuring a printer. This really only impacts one winery that I know of,
where an older cash drawer pin-out is a bit different than the new ones.

Upcoming additions:

1) Semi-integration with other merchants.

2) Contact Lists. a) Ability to generate emails for email lists, and wine
club lists. b) Option to sort contacts by FIRST NAME, LAST NAME

3) Add dialog that resembles the main display (sale item buttons & pages)
for quickly adding more sale items to sales in the Update Sale dialog (this
feature is already on the iPad).

4) Multiple table maps.

5) Search facilities in the Contact List to search by telephone, name, Wine
club, email list, etc.

6) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk inventory.
c) Sales data posting to QuickBooks and Sage.

7) More statistics generation (average sale per transaction, etc).

8) VQA Ontario will soon require wineries to upload their VQAO excel sheet
for reporting purposes each month. I will add a capability to produce the
single sheet for uploading.

I expect the next update to be in the September time-frame.

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
