Version 4.58 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in iTunes.

To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu bar, and
the download will begin.

On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation.

   Follow the installer directions.

You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your remote
terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal. If
you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that the
WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall. If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update
from the base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just
check for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

Updates in this version:

1) Fixed a bug where the CC info for a contact is lost when the contact
is renamed.

2) Introduced refillable containers for ciders (e.g. growler).
Refillable containers have no deposit.

3) Fixed Fruit wines to always be reported on the VQA licensee page.

4) Split Winery Report and Summary Report messages into smaller
fragments between remote and base terminals to make it easier for slower
base terminals to retrieve data in a timely manner for remote terminals.

5) Fix tip/cashback not being added to totals in Basic print style (pdf
generation), when there are no bottles in the sale.

6) The base terminal (Winery Info dialog), can now configure 2 separate
backup locations (e.g., network drive & google drive - or 2 network drives).

7) Allow Promo/BTG/TH bottles to be added to bottle totals in the Sales
Monthly Summary and Monthly Growth dialogs. This allows you to see the
total number of bottles being sold & poured on a yearly basis.

8) Added sleep/resume detection for Windows and OsX builds. If the
software detects a sleep and resume, it will restart its network connections
on the resume indication.

9) Splitting sales/transactions now allows for the transaction to be
split into 2-10 transactions.

10) Added ability to the Backup dialog, to backup the replication files.
This allows for a quick way to migrate your base terminal to a new computer.

a. When installing the application on a new computer - the base
terminal can pull the backup files during installation to move the database.

11) In the Sale Details dialog (updating a transaction), the 'Add Item'
button now displays a dialog that has Sale Item & Pages (like the main
display), to add new items to a transaction.

a. Note, the 'Add Other' button has the same features as the 'Add
Item' button used to have.

b. This feature has always been on the iPad version.

12) Enable the Printer Pairing button for remote terminals in the Print
Config dialog. Any terminal can be configured to print for other
terminals. Not sure why it was disabled.

13) Add more recovery options for corrupt databases

a. Deleted contacts can now be detected and recovered.

b. Partially corrupt transactions can be detected by comparing the
primary and secondary database images.

14) Allow Email Settings dialog to configure any SMTP port for sending
emails. Add a test button, to send a test email to validate the settings.

15) Add a Transaction Totals table option to add in a table containing the
totals of each transaction (transaction/basic/tax/deposit/total) for the
Sales Totals Report.

16) Added a deposit column to various report tables to show consistent
basic/tax/deposit/total breakdowns.

17) The Bookings label that is displayed on the main display when there
are bookings for the day is now a button that can be pressed to quickly
access the day's bookings.

Upcoming Additions:

1) Sales data posting to Quickbooks and Sage - this is my top priority
right now, but this is not a simple task.

2) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory

3) Be able to generate reports for specific wine(s) or sale item(s) or
sale category(s).

4) Add ability to set the foreground/background colours for the payment
buttons.

5) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

6) Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database
on my server.

7) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

8) Split items into fractional amounts between multiple transactions
(eg. Split 1 bottle of wine in terms of value between two or more
transactions).

9) Add booking feature to the iPad.

10) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

11) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

12) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

I expect the next update to be in the January time frame.

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
