WineryPOS Update (4.76) available

Version 4.76 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in the Apple App Store.

 

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

 

1.       To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

 

2.       When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation

Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

 

     It is better to update your base terminal first.  You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.

     If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall. 

     If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

 

END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

 

Updates (from 4.74) in this version:

1)      There are now 20 sale item keys per page.  Your keys will appear in
the same location even though the key number ordering has changed.

The new order is:

1     2     3     4 

5     6     7     8

9    10   11   12

13  14   15   16

17  18   19   20

There is now a ? button beside the Key number combo box when configuring a
sale item.  If you press it, you can select the key number (and page), that
you want to move the item to.  Key numbers that are already being used will
be grayed out.

2)      Update for Moneris Core semi-integration machines.  Moneris added
another field that the POS s/w needs to send to the machine to validate the
communications.

3)      Updates to the internet connectivity service for tunneling in to
your base terminal from the internet.  Some wineries have internet service
providers that were not forwarding all internet traffic.  I have added the
ability for a couple of the services to use a different internet protocol to
work around those issues.

4)      Updates to various iPad scenes.  There were a few displays (scenes)
that were being cut-off due to an update from Apple.  Those scenes will now
display correctly again.

 

Upcoming Additions (first three are in order of implementation):

1)      Add a Loyalty program to award points/discounts/stuff to individuals
based on their purchases over the past number of month/weeks.

2)      Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

3)      Add export to Sage/Quickbooks with the potential of being able to
automatically post data.

4)      Enable Tour Company feature.  This is a feature that I am currently
using in my winery's POS version to track sales to Tour Company tasting
groups, and consolidate tasting invoices to Tour operators.

a)      Tracks the Tour Company, and optionally: the Tour Guide, the Group
Size & the Bottles Purchased for each tour that passes through the winery.

5)      Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc).

6)      Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports

7)      Import/Export.  a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets.  b) Bulk
inventory

8)      Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

9)      Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database
on my server.

10)   Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone.  That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

11)   Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

12)   Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

13)   Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).

14)   Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.

15)   I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit) by the summer/fall of 2021.  This means that really old
32bit computers (12+ years and probably running Windows XP) will no longer
be supported.  If you have really old machines, you should consider
upgrading them (but kodus to them for surviving this long).

 

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know.  I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.
