Version 4.82 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in the Apple App Store.

This is a critical update and will download a new winery reporting template
that is for April reporting.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation

Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.

If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.

If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

Updates (from 4.80) in this version:

1) Winery Reporting template V26.3. Bulk wine numbers are no longer
being reported on the J10 - and less breakdown on bottle deposits.

a. Also the POS now populates the non-VQA 100% Ontario on the J10

2) A number of the report generation dialogs are now interrupt-able and
will show the generation progress in smooth manner

a. For Winery Reporting if any errors are detected, you will be
prompted to stop the report generation

b. On a MAC Winery Reporting will now detect when the MAC system halts
the reporting script to ask the user to Grant Access to the file system. In
this case, after granting access, tell the POS to continue generating
reports and granting access to the 3 excel files being generated. This way
from the second time on, the reports will be correctly generated.

3) Booking dialog now has a Time Table button to quickly pick times on
15 minute intervals between 9:00am and 6:00pm

4) Contacts can be merged. So if two contacts have been created with
different spellings, etc, you can merge them to one of the contacts and have
the software properly search and replace the duplicate contact.

5) Fractional Item addition to transactions. As long as the item is
not a physical wine (with a bottle deposit), you can now add a fractional
item to a sale transaction.

a. From the main screen from the menu bar select Sales / Add
Fractional Sale Item.

                                                               i. Pick
the fraction. Currently 1/2, 1/3, 2/3, 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5
are supported

                                                             ii. Pick
the Sale Item or Items. Items not allowed (wine) are greyed out. BTG and
TH can be fractionally added.

                                                            iii. Press
the OK button,

                                                           iv. The
fractional item(s) will now be in the main display

b. From the Update Sale dialog (a current transaction - eg a open
table. Etc)

                                                               i. Press
the Add Other button and select Fractional Sale Item

                                                             ii. Pick
the fraction.

                                                            iii. Pick
the Sale Item or Items

                                                           iv. Press
the OK button,

                                                             v. The
fractional item(s) will now be added to the transaction

                                                           vi. Press OK
to save the changes

6) Fixed a tax not included bug in the BTG selection dialog

7) Old bookings are now moved into history in the database instead of
being cleared and will be displayed in the Booking calendar

a. A Booking radio button was added to the Monthly Comparison dialog
and you can now show the bookings that were on that date on a double-click.

8) Tour Company feature addition. This is part of the LCBO package,
and is only available to those licenses. Basically you can add a Tour
Company payment button and track tour operators coming through your retail
store. I have been testing this feature in my winery store for the past
year.

a. To enable this feature. In the Winery Info dialog (Config / Winery
Info) check the Show button for Tour Company Sales.

b. Now from the menu bar select Tour Company / Config Summary

                                                               i. Press
the Add Tour Company button to add another tour company

1. Either type in the tour company name OR press the ? and pick the
tour company from your Contact List.

2. If the driver always pays do NOT check the Consolidate Invoices
checkbox. But if the driver does NOT pay, and you will be generating
consolidated invoices (a pdf with all invoices for the tour company for a
period of time), then check this box

3. Check the Ask for Number Bottles purchase by tour if you want to
track this (I found this to be too much)

4. Check the Ask for Number People in tour if you want to track this
(I found this to be too much)

5. Check the Ask for Tour Guide's Name if you want to track this - I
only do this for the companies that I invoice later so that the consolidated
invoice shows the drivers name with the transaction. Always for good cross
checking.

6. If you Ask for tour guide names, then add names. You can also add
a Other name just in case.

7. Press OK to save

                                                             ii. Repeat
above to add more. I only have tour companies for the companies where the
driver is responsible for paying for their groups tastings. I do not add
the tour companies that are driving groups around, where the group is
responsible for their own tasting fees.

c. Now to create a transaction, simply enter the tasting fees (and any
other appropriate items), and then press the Tour Company payment button

                                                               i. Pick
the Tour Company

                                                             ii. Pick
the Driver (ONLY IF checked for the company)

                                                            iii. Pick
the number of bottles (ONLY IF checked for the company)

                                                           iv. Pick the
number of people (ONLY IF checked for the company)

                                                             v. If
consolidate invoices is set for the company, an invoice is created and
receipt is printed

OR

You will be prompted for the payment type.

d. A Tour Company button is shown in the Booking dialog, so that you
can quickly set the booking name to a tour company.

e. If your staff creates a transaction, but forgets to add the tour
company name, you can simply bring up the transaction and add the tour
company name (and driver, bottles, etc) to the transaction.

9) Transactions can now have up to 10 payments

10) Fix/allow commissions for sales reps on non-wine items.

11) Improvements to the internet connectivity for remote terminals
connecting from the internet to their respective base terminals.

12) Other misc fixes/changes.

Upcoming Additions:

1) Adding a new package that supports multiple locations for retail
stores. This will allow wineries with special licenses that can have
multiple store fronts to have a primary and secondary base terminal that
sync their sales.

2) Add a Loyalty program to award points/discounts/stuff to individuals
based on their purchases over the past number of month/weeks.

3) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

4) Add export to Sage/Quickbooks with the potential of being able to
automatically post data.

5) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)

6) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports

7) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory

8) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

9) Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database
on my server.

10) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

11) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

12) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

13) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).

14) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.

15) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit) by the fall of 2022. This means that really old 32bit
computers (12+ years and probably running Windows XP) will no longer be
supported. If you have really old machines, you should consider upgrading
them (but kodus to them for surviving this long).

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
