Version 4.95 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in the Apple App Store.
UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.
2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation
Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.
It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.
If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.
If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.
END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
Updates (from 4.93) in this version:
1) Revised WineryReporting template V26.7. This will fix the VQA
totals not being back-populated on the J10 sheet.
There is no change to tax calculations, but regenerating your Apr/May/June
reports will properly populate the J10 sheet totals.
NOTE: a new template will be downloaded from the server.
2) The Update Sale dialog now uses push buttons for the payment
selections instead of pull-down combo boxes.
3) Major Restaurant package upgrade. This will only impact the
wineries running the restaurant package.
a. The Winery Info dialog - the restaurant checkbox in the Misc
section are now accessible via a Restaurant Package button
b. You can now track every item in a table by an individual seat
number. This can be turned on/off (default is off) via the Winery Info
dialog.
c. If (and only if) you turn on the seat tracking - you can only
create a NEW TABLE via the Table Map.
So you won't be able to put items in the cart area, and then press the Table
payment button. In fact, the Table payment button is not shown when you are
using seat tracking.
d. For seat tracking:
i. Every
time you add an item to the table, you are prompted for the seat number for
that item.
ii. When
splitting a table, you can also split by seat number(s).
iii. When
printing a bill, you can also print by seat number(s)
iv. When
moving items to a different table, you can also move by seat number(s)
v. Order
printing to the kitchen contains the seat number for the item.
e. The Pay By (split payments) button has been changed to a Pay button.
Every time you press the Pay button, you can select to pay by:
i. By
All. : you are prompted for the payment type, which can be the Merchant
Terminal in semi-integrated.
NOTE: that if you want to Pay by All, and it is with a Merchant Terminal,
you could just press the Merchant Terminal button.
ii. By
Amount. : you are prompted to enter the amount, and then the payment type,
which can be the Merchant Terminal in semi-integrated
There are a maximum of 10 payments allowed currently.
iii. By
Items. :you are promoted to select the item(s), to pay for, those items are
split into a new transaction, and you are then prompted for the payment
type.
iv. By
Seats.: (if seat tracking is enabled): you are prompted to select the seat
number(s), those items are split into a new transaction, and you are
prompted for the payment type
NOTE: the Pay By items and seat numbers split the appropriate items into a
new transaction, so that the remaining items in the transaction represent
what is left to pay.
4) In the Update Sale dialog you can now double-click on an individual
item (must be non-wine), and split that item and keep it in the
transaction. This is useful if you want to split an item in half, so that
two people can pay for it.
5) iPad upgrades
a. Like the Update Sale dialog, you can now select an item, and edit
it, split it, add a Discount $, a Discount %, or add a note. For some of
these functions, you must be in Full Access mode.
b. Other changes to make the ipad have just as much functionality as
the desktop app.
c. Over time, many of the pull-downs are being converted to button
pushes.
6) Other miscellaneous fixes and changes.
Upcoming Additions:
1) Add export/posting to Sage/Quickbooks. This feature will come with
a cost (TBD$/year) due to the expected support to keep it up-to-date with
Sage and Quickbooks updates.
2) Enhancements to the Wine Club feature.
3) Add a Loyalty program to award points/discounts/stuff to individuals
based on their purchases over the past number of month/weeks.
4) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours
5) Ability to generate and track Sales Orders (future month dated
orders that you can track payments as credit-on-account payments and change
as needed).
6) Ability to crystallize all transactions before a specific date and
not allow any transactions to be created prior to that date.
7) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.
8) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)
9) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports
10) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory
11) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.
12) Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database on
my server.
13) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.
14) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.
15) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.
16) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).
17) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit)
As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.
Cheers,
Rob
