Folks,

 

Please do not email/phone regarding this topic.  There obviously will be an
update to address the relief of HST on wine.

The Provincial gov't announced yesterday, that they would be matching the
GST relief with PST -> so full HST relief on the items listed by the feds.

 

This is not a simple update, and will most likely not be available until the
week preceding its implementation (so hopefully by Dec 10/11/12).

 

The update will only address tax relief for the wine categories - which has
hard coded taxation to prevent user errors.  You will be responsible for
updating non-wine sale items to reflect whether or not they should have tax.

 

Note: the relief basically covers wine & food & books you sell.  Any other
items you sell in your store (clothing/glassware/nicknacks/shipping/etc)
will still have HST on them.
