Version 5.10 is now available for download from the POS server and the new
iPad version is available in the Apple App Store.

Please note that the update server automatically disables updates for
wineries that have 30+ day outstanding invoices.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation

Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.

If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.

If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

Updates (from 5.07) in this version:

1) Add fractional case support for LCBO sales and refunds. If you had
broken bottles on shipping to the LCBO, or the LCBO has removed bottles for
lab analysis, and back charged your winery, you can capture that now with
the POS software to insure the LCBO payments match POS invoices.

a. If you have an LCBO invoice, you can press the Add Other button and
select Fractional Wine Case.

This will allow you to add individual bottles.

b. If you are in the WRS sales channel, with valid LCBO bottles in the
basket, from the menu bar you can select Sales / Refund / LCBO.

NOTE: for lab analysis, the back charge may require you to modify the case
quote for that bottle in the invoice/refund

2) Expanded the Help menu options (this is information that I often
email to wineries).

a. Added the Quick Start Guide pdf to help wineries doing their own
terminal installations.

b. Added Printer Help. Detailed instructions for installing POS
printers.

c. Installing App Help. Basic instructions to follow for installing
another POS terminal, or moving the Base Terminal - which references the
Quick Start Guide.

3) Excise warehouse bug fix - for refunds where the bottles are not
returned to inventory.

4) Improved recovery for database corruption caused by a full hard
drive, or a hard drive failure.

a. It is important to occasionally check how full your hard drive is.
The POS does not use a tremendous amount of space, but Windows can retain a
lot of temporary data when it updates the operating system, that can fill up
your hard drive over time.

b. Ensure that you have Backup locations listed in the Winery Info
dialog that are either flash drives, network drives, or cloud drives.

5) Misc bug fixes and improvements

a. Fix cider/cooler to use ND/NC on non-VQA excel sheet

b. Fix negative sale amount to show negative HST

c. Updated notes for Excise Warehouse errors.

d. Others.

Upcoming Additions:

1) Add export/posting to Sage/Quickbooks. This feature will come with
a cost (TBD$/year) due to the expected support to keep it up-to-date with
Sage and Quickbooks updates.

a) Stage 1: data presentation in the POS in terms of dialogs as well as
viewing data in pdf/csv formats. If you have specific data (or formats)
that you would like to see please contact me.

b) Stage 2: integration with Quickbooks.

c) Stage 3: integration with Sage.

2) Add fractional case support to Out-of-Prov, Export, and Duty Free
sales channels.

3) Add additional sales channel(s) to be able to support J10 reporting
of Sales to Manufacturers, Embassies, Airlines.

4) Enhancements to the Wine Club feature.

5) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

6) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.

a) Stage 1: support import of csv format sales data to the POS

b) Stage 2: integration with one of the platforms.

7) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)

8) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports

9) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory

10) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

11) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

12) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

13) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

14) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).

15) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit)

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
