Version 5.21 is now available for download from the POS server and the new
iPad version is available in the Apple App Store.
This version contains bug fixes, updates for WineryReportingV27.2 reporting,
and the ability to create non-Ontario non-VQA wines.
When your base terminal is updated and restarted it will perform a database
update (20sec - 2min) to correct a potential display of licensee price bug,
and enhance the bottle inventory. Please be patient.
Please note that the update server automatically disables updates for
wineries that have 30+ day outstanding invoices.
UPDATE WINDOWS/MAC INSTRUCTIONS
1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.
2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation
Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.
It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.
If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.
If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.
NOTE: If asked to download core files when restarting the software, select
Yes. Otherwise, you could be missing core templates the software needs to
generate reports.
UPDATE IPAD INSTRUCTIONS
1. Start the App Store app on the iPad.
2. Pick your account (press on your account) , which shows all
available updates.
3. Update WineryPOS
END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
Updates (from 5.20) in this version:
1) Bug fix for licensee pricing. The transactions are correct, but the
displayed licensee price in the transaction may be incorrect
This could occur for wines that you have a LCBO price override for, and you
alter the licensee transaction after it has been created.
2) WineryReporting template improvements to show which rows are being
populated on VQA/non-VQA/VQAO sheets on both Windows and MAC computers.
-plus a bug fix on the MAC when reading the non-VQA licensee fees on
template V27.2 (July on reporting)
-non-Ontario wine sold in your WRS will be correctly set on the J10 and
licensee sales on the non-VQA sheet.
3) SummaryReportV3 supports the new format for Ontario Wine Tax
remittance.
-if you regenerate any report from April, 2026 on - it will use the new
template.
-the new template also supports non-Ontario wine and cider columns
4) Non-Ontario tracking for wine and cider. By default wine and cider
are assumed to be 100% Ontario
This is tracked both in the bottle inventory AND in the Configure sale key
for the wine.
There is a Find and Replace / 100% Ontario dialog that can be used to
correctly change the 100% Ontario status of a wine or cider across the
entire database.
You only need to run the Find and Replace for your non-Ontario wines and
ciders.
Reporting of non-Ontario wines and ciders from an Ontario Wine Tax
perspective is only supported from April 1, 2026 on.
5) Upgraded the Bottle inventory to historically track the VQA number
of the wines in inventory (which happened when the base terminal restarted
with Release 5.21)
6) Upgraded the PDF reports to add non-VQA sales/btg/inventory tables
to help with the non-VQA grape support program audits.
Upcoming Additions:
1) Moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has always
been 64bit)
2) Create an iPhone app
3) Add export/posting to Sage/Quickbooks. This feature will come with
a cost (TBD$/year) due to the expected support to keep it up-to-date with
Sage and Quickbooks updates.
a) Stage 1: data presentation in the POS in terms of dialogs as well as
viewing data in pdf/csv formats. If you have specific data (or formats)
that you would like to see please contact me.
b) Stage 2: integration with Quickbooks.
c) Stage 3: integration with Sage.
4) Enhancements to the Wine Club feature.
5) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours
6) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.
a) Stage 1: support import of csv format sales data to the POS
b) Stage 2: integration with one of the platforms.
7) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)
8) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports
9) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory
10) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.
11) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.
12) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.
13) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).
Cheers,
Rob
