Version 5.13 is now available for download from the POS server and the new
iPad version is available in the Apple App Store.
Please note that the update server automatically disables updates for
wineries that have 30+ day outstanding invoices.
UPDATE WINDOWS/MAC INSTRUCTIONS
1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.
2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation
Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.
It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.
If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.
If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.
UPDATE IPAD INSTRUCTIONS
1. Start the App Store app on the iPad.
2. Pick your account (press on your account) , which shows all
available updates.
3. Update WineryPOS
END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
Updates (from 5.11) in this version:
1) Winery Reporting V27.1.
This template is required for April, 2026 reporting on.
NOTE: NO ALGORITHMS HAVE CHANGED for the calculation of Licensee and LCBO
pricing. The LCBO is still working on those changes, and I expect a new
template to be rolled out by the LCBO sometime in May.
2) In the LCBO Monthly/Quarterly report generation, if the template
needed to generate the month's report is not present on the computer, you
will be prompted to download it from my server.
3) Fix a bug to save changes to the custom capture data field in the
Update Sale dialog.
4) Fix a bug to properly display tips/cashback when merging sales
together as part of a mass import if your terminal was in temp sales mode.
5) Fix an issue in the Bottle inventory, to properly show the Use
Actual button when actual sales to not match the displayed value.
The Sold field can now be manually overridden as well.
6) Added the following sales channels (you must enable them from Config
/ Show Sales Channels)
a) Other Winery - (available in all packages) for bulk wine sales to
other wineries. You can still do this via the Bulk Wine Inventory sold
fields.
Access from the menu bar: Sales / Create / Other Wineries in Ontario Sale
b) Manufacturer - (available in all packages) for bulk wine sales to
food manufacturers.
Access from the menu bar: Sales / Create / Manufacturer Sale
c) Airlines - (available with the LCBO package)
Access from the menu bar: Sales / Create / Airline Sale
d) Embassy - (available with the LCBO package)
Access from the menu bar: Sales / Create / Embassy Sale
7) Fractional case support for all sales channels that typically do
case sales.
8) Added the VQA Number to the bottle inventory - so you can track it
when you add your new bottles to inventory
9) WineryPOS SOP reporting has been added back in to the J10 - for a
while it was not being filled out.
10) Other misc fixes, tweaks, and improvements.
Upcoming Additions:
1) Add an Import Sales feature to be able to import sales from
Quickbooks (or other apps) generated reports. This allows wineries not
using WineryPOS for sales, to import sales and generate government reports
(J10 et al)
2) Add export/posting to Sage/Quickbooks. This feature will come with
a cost (TBD$/year) due to the expected support to keep it up-to-date with
Sage and Quickbooks updates.
a) Stage 1: data presentation in the POS in terms of dialogs as well as
viewing data in pdf/csv formats. If you have specific data (or formats)
that you would like to see please contact me.
b) Stage 2: integration with Quickbooks.
c) Stage 3: integration with Sage.
3) Enhancements to the Wine Club feature.
4) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours
5) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.
a) Stage 1: support import of csv format sales data to the POS
b) Stage 2: integration with one of the platforms.
6) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)
7) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports
8) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory
9) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.
10) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.
11) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.
12) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.
13) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).
14) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit)
