Version 4.71 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in iTunes.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation

Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.

If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.

If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Support of WineryPOS on older 32bit computers with a WINDOWS
operating system on them (12+ year old machines) will be ending within the
next year. If you have the POS software running on one of these relics, you
should be looking to upgrade your machine(s) this year. Support is being
phased out to allow features like QR Code generation and connectivity to
e-commerce solutions (eg Shopify and WooCommerce) to be added.

Updates (from 4.69) in this version:

1) All windows will now re-size based on the scaling (100-200%) that
you have set in the Print Configuration for the terminal.

2) Increased the number of available table maps from 3 to 5.

3) Added a wine category for Under 7% and all of its associated
reporting in the J10 and excise reports.

4) The Sales Totals (Daily) Summary now shows the Tasting Revenue and
value of the Promotional bottles in the Promotional Bottles area. This will
help everyone determine how the tasting revenue compares to the worth of the
promotional bottles.

5) End-of-Day added functionality

a. A End-of-Day historic dialog has been added under the Reports menu.
This allows you to re-print any historic End-of-Day and will also indicate
if the cash sales still balance with the historic end-of-day.

b. If you accidentally end the day, you can now go back into the
end-of-day and revert the last end-of-day - AS LONG AS - it is still the
same calendar day. You need Admin privileges for this action.

c. Reverted end-of-days are highlighted in Red in the End-of-Day
history dialog.

d. Paid invoices have been added to the end-of-day printout.

6) Costs of items in the bottle inventory and general inventory are now
stored for each transaction in the database. This will allow for more
reporting options in the future.

7) Unpaid Sales dialog update for remote terminals. You should notice
fewer/no timeouts now, as this dialog now uses multiple messages to gather
the unpaid invoices from the database.

8) Added a Statement of Account report generation (under the Reports
menu). You need the multi-terminal license to get this report.

9) Added Name & Sales Channel sorting to the Sale Summary dialog.

10) You can turn off automatic End-of-Day tip rounding (active when cash
nickel rounding is on) in the Winery Info dialog.

11) You can create Credit-on-Account sale item buttons. This is useful
for things like:

a. Wine Club membership fees.

b. Pre-sales of a wine that has not been released/bottled yet.

12) Added View CSV and View PDF buttons to the Prepaid Sales
(Credit-on-Account) Summary dialog.

13) Your winery Name and HST are no longer editable in the Winery Info
dialog. This is to prevent wineries from accidentally voiding their license
key. They can only be modified by use of an override password generated by
Rob (same as for resetting a forgotten/lost admin password).

14) Misc bug fixes.

Upcoming Additions (not in order of implementation):

1) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc).

2) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports

3) Add complexity to the Sales Accounting reports, with the potential
of being able to post the data to Sage and Quickbooks

4) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory

5) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

6) Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database
on my server.

7) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

8) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

9) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

10) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

11) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).

12) Add a Loyalty program to award points/discounts/stuff to individuals
based on their purchases over the past number of month/weeks.

13) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.

14) Ability to move/not-show inactive contacts and/or have a one-time use
contact

15) Soon the MAC build will only support 10.9+. This is due to Apple
changing its security requirements for apps in the near future.

16) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit) by the summer/fall of 2021. This means that really old
32bit computers (12+ years and probably running Windows XP) will no longer
be supported. If you have really old machines, you should consider
upgrading them (but kodus to them for surviving this long).

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
