Version 4.98 is now available for download and the new iPad version is
available in the Apple App Store.

Please note that the update server automatically disables updates for
wineries that have 30+ day outstanding invoices.

Package pricing and update fees will be going up slightly in the new year.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation

Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.

If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.

If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

Updates (from 4.95) in this version:

1) Update for HST removal on wine/cider sale categories effective Dec
14th to Feb 15th.

a. DO NOT change the price of your wines/ciders. The POS will
automatically adjust the price by removing the HST.

b. YOU MUST MANUALLY CHANGE all of your non-wine items that are
impacted by the HST tax holiday (eg Food & books)

Obviously, if the transaction's date is in the tax holiday time frame any
wine items you add to the transaction will have the HST backed-out - so if
you create a transaction on Dec 13th,, for example, and then move it to Dec
14th - any wine items you add will not have HST. The POS will not adjust
the tax when you move it into the tax holiday time frame - so you would need
to remove and then re-add the items to the sale transaction.

2) Gift Certificates now track amounts remaining instead of zeroing the
amount remaining if the certificate is not fully used.

-side note, that gift certificates can now by imported into the system -
which is really only useful for new installations.

3) An excise column has been added to the Bottle History dialog

4) In the SaleItem Configuration dialog (when configuring sale items in
Config mode), the Wine Select dialog now allows you to show all the wine in
BottleInventory (instead of just the ones that don't have SaleItems). This
allows you to easily link multiple sale item buttons to the same inventory
bottle if you are now using multiple price points for the bottle.

5) Bug fixes

a) Fixed crash when a bottle discount is added to a licensee wine.

b) Fixed table map button not being properly shown when changing the
configuration to show, or not show, it.

c) Fixed an LCBO Bug in the WineryReporting template that was
populating fruit wines from the VQA sheet to the VQAO sheet. The POS will
set the bottle size to zero, so that you don't pay the VQAO fees that they
are not entitled to.

6) In the Restaurant package - the time stamp for the table is changed
to its payment time - for easier cross referencing with sales slips.

7) Increased the fractional items combos to include more options.

8) Added a Quote feature. You can now create a quote - which is not a
physical sale - so it is NOT added to sales figures. Bottles are NOT
removed from inventory. You can apply payments to it (which are tracked as
credit-on-account), and when you are ready, you can convert the quote to a
physical transaction.

This is particularly useful if you are pre-selling wine, or want to track a
future event (eg wedding event).

When the quote is converted to a physical transaction it's items are removed
from inventory.

Under the Sales menu, see Quote Summary, and Create / Quote.

9) Other misc updates and bug fixes.

Upcoming Additions:

1) Add export/posting to Sage/Quickbooks. This feature will come with
a cost (TBD$/year) due to the expected support to keep it up-to-date with
Sage and Quickbooks updates.

2) Enhancements to the Wine Club feature.

3) Add a Loyalty program to award points/discounts/stuff to individuals
based on their purchases over the past number of month/weeks.

4) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

5) Ability to crystallize all transactions before a specific date and
not allow any transactions to be created prior to that date.

6) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.

7) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)

8) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports

9) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory

10) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

11) Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database on
my server.

12) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

13) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

14) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

15) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).

16) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit)

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
