Version 5.07 is now available for download from the POS server and the new
iPad version is available in the Apple App Store.

Please note that the update server automatically disables updates for
wineries that have 30+ day outstanding invoices.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To check for updates select Help/Check for Updates from the menu
bar, and the download will begin.
On base and sales terminals (or a Remote Terminal in Temporary Sales Mode)
you have to be in admin mode (press F12) to be able to check for updates.

2. When the download completes, select 'Yes' to start the installation

Follow the installer directions.
You can now restart the WineryPOS application.

It is better to update your base terminal first. You can leave your
remote terminal(s) running and connected while you update the base terminal.

If you have anti-virus software running, you may need to verify that
the WineryPOS application is still being allowed through the anti-virus
firewall.

If your remote terminal does not automatically pull the update from the
base terminal, and goes into Temporary Sales mode on start-up, just check
for updates on the remote terminal while in Temporary Sales mode.

END OF UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

Updates (from 5.06) in this version:

1) Excel Winery Reporting.

a. Additional delays in POS software which should remove all issues of
reporting getting stuck during VQAO file creation for newer versions of
excel on Windows platforms.

b. Support for WineryReporting template V26.11, which is needed for
August/2025 reporting.

c. Change software to track template V26.10 as V26.10 instead of V26.9
rev 2 - to line up with the final rollout from the LCBO.

This is a cosmetic change, as V26.10 is the template the POS has been using
for April/2025 reporting on, all along.

2) Added 2 help windows

a. Connectivity Troubleshooting Help (from the menu bar select Help /
Connectivity Troubleshooting)

If your computers are not connecting for some reason, there is now a Help
window with steps to follow to help troubleshoot (and correct) why your
remote terminals may not be connecting to your base terminal.

There is also a Help button in the dialog displayed with a remote terminal
fails to connect and you select No to going into temp sales mode.

b. In the Merchant Terminal Settings dialog, there is now a Help button
with the steps to follow for configuring semi-integration.

Please note: Only Elavon terminals are actively supported. All other
merchant terminals have been deprecated.

If you want to semi-integrated your merchant terminals with the POS, and
have not done it before, be sure to contact Rob (me) so that you contact the
correct person (Shane Free at Elavon/Paystone) that is familiar with the
WineryPOS software and Elavon.

Upcoming Additions:

1) Add export/posting to Sage/Quickbooks. This feature will come with
a cost (TBD$/year) due to the expected support to keep it up-to-date with
Sage and Quickbooks updates.

2) Enhancements to the Wine Club feature.

3) Add a timesheet feature to track/report employee work hours

4) Ability to crystallize all transactions before a specific date and
not allow any transactions to be created prior to that date.

5) Add Shopify/WooCommerce inter-connectivity support.

6) Add a configurable Region to the information for Contacts and allow
reports to be generated for regions (e.g., GTA/Ottawa/etc)

7) Add Credit-on-Account tables to all of the relevant reports

8) Import/Export. a) handle Sale Groups and Sale Sets. b) Bulk
inventory

9) Be able to create sub-invoices or invoice sets for large sales done
through sales reps.

10) Offer a backup service to store encrypted backups of your database on
my server.

11) Ability to create barcodes or QR codes for membership contacts that
can be scanned from a smart phone. That way membership swipe cards are not
needed.

12) Create an iPhone app that supports the booking feature.

13) Be able to Print bookings by the week/month.

14) Add secondary commission rate for specific sales channels (eg Export,
or OOP).

15) I will be moving the Windows build to a 64bit build (the MAC build has
always been 64bit)

As always, if there are any enhancements that you would like to see added,
let me know. I put everything suggested on a prioritized list, and slowly
work my way through it.

Cheers,

Rob
